Volunteers are the heartbeat of Journey to Dream. Whether you join us weekly, just a few times or once, the time you give makes a huge difference.
Eligibility for Volunteering
We are committed and obligated to protect the safety and security of our residents and school program participants. We rigorously vet volunteers to ensure it’s a good fit for all involved. Qualifications and requirements vary. Certain documentation and training required for volunteering are mandated by the State of Texas. Volunteers 17 years of age and older must pass a background check. FBI fingerprinting and a drug screen may also be required.
There is a $50 one-time fee for all volunteers. This covers our onboarding costs of a background check and drug screening, as well as a volunteer t-shirt. If this prohibits you from volunteering please let us know.
