Our lifestyles have shifted over the last couple of years, but our mission has not. Journey to Dream remains committed to providing housing, respect, and resources to youth 14 – 19.

Every young person that arrives at Kyle’s Place door or through our school Dream Initiative program is promised the opportunity to move forward in a caring environment that will equip, empower and embrace them. Our goal is to move each individual from crisis to independence with love and guidance.

Teens come to Journey to Dream and Kyle's Place for many reasons. Some exit foster care without a place to go and others flee from rejection. However, many come to us simply because their families are trapped in cycles of violence and addiction, and struggle to survive without an adequate safety net to help them bounce back from small or significant challenges.

Journey to Dream believes that every young person deserves a safe and stable place to call home, and we’re working to make that vision reality.  Thanks to you, Journey to Dream has impacted thousands of teens' lives through Kyle's Place and our Dream Initiative school programs. You make it possible for Journey to Dream to provide youth with the tools and resources of basic life needs; shelter, food, clothing, character building, confidence, and optimism. You also help Journey To Dream contribute resources that allow the teens to achieve academic success, gain leadership skills, learn conflict-resolution strategies, find their voice and share their stories, mobilize others to volunteer and give back, and become more engaged citizens.

We’re launching our 2024 Year-End Campaign! Even though we helped thousands of teens, there are still thousands more at-risk, victimized, and homeless teens in our community. Please help us continue to assist those teens, and let's work together to find a way to get their lives back on track!

This campaign aims to raise $75,000 by December 31, 2024. If we reach our goal, we’ll be able to provide food, shelter, clothing, counseling, and ongoing support for more teens in the upcoming year.

On behalf of them, thank you for saving their lives and their dignity.

Jake’s Story

Jake is the youngest of three children.  He had a troubled and unstable childhood, unexpectedly moving several times a year, often in the middle of the night, often his only meal provided during the school day; then, his father left the family when Jake was six years old.   Jake’s mother began taking her frustrations out on her children, and as the only boy, Jake often bore the brunt of her attacks.  Jake's earliest memory is of being constantly hit by his mother.

Jake was just six at the time.

A caring school counselor referred Jake to Journey to Dream and Kyle's Place. He had his first shower in a very long time, finally feeling clean and relaxed. Being at Kyle's Place meant he finally had a warm, safe room, which Jake took great delight in keeping clean and his first home-cooked meal in a very long time. Jake describes it as 'perfect.'

Every day, your support makes stories like Jake's possible.
